Documentary which looks at how a radical generation of musicians created a new German musical identity out of the cultural ruins of war. Between 1968 and 1977 bands like Neu!, Can, Faust and Kraftwerk would look beyond western rock and roll to create some of the most original and uncompromising music ever heard. They shared one common goal – a forward-looking desire to transcend Germany’s gruesome past – but that didn’t stop the music press in war-obsessed Britain from calling them Krautrock. KRAFTWERK FTW!

I stumbled across this new band and instantly liked what i’ve heard. Smooth Synth paired with Guitar over that uptempo Drumbeat. Nice and definitely a groundbreaking song for more like that to come in 2012. Enjoy the video, a little introduction by the band and the song via the soundcloud player.

“Earthquake” is the first single to come from French & American band Freedom Fry’s debut LP. It was self-produced by the band in NYC immediately following a 5.8 magnitude earthquake that struck the surrounding area. They never felt it but it inspired the song’s lyrics about a love going awry and shaking up a person’s world.

happening tomorrow night @ our club yip yab (plus got a new soundsystem). with my buddies georg and my passion. a great mixup of peoples that are deeply rooted in moombahton, african tunes, cumbia and the likes. for 2 years we talked about doing a proper tropical night. really looking fwd to it.
