Actually just a quick drums edit plus some Soko vocals to mash it up some, while i am on vacation and its pouring in Southern Thailand. This is for my dj fellas back home, so that you can play this tune the coming weekend. Hard to tell how the drums sound on my laptop lol, but enjoy nonetheless. Just a quick edit with some Soko vocals before everybody gets tired of this tune. I called it Cee Lo Green “Fuck You” (Bitch Blonde Xbox Nadya says hi rmx)LOL. Enjoy

A short story that happened last week:

Look i made this folk remix of Europes Überanthem Alors on Danse not too long ago, Stromae is a good friend of chromemusic and we were the first ones last summer to start promoting his tune before he even got signed and brought him over to Berlin and bla, bla etc, etc. When Joe told me today my remix hit the #1 spot on the hypem charts, i was real glad, but he also said i wouldnt like it. (When i first posted my mix – it was barely 2 dozen people that “hearted” it. Got great feedback though, not only when i played it out but also the manager of “Get Cape, Wear Cape, Fly” Paul Bonham wrote me how much he liked the tune and many more people etc.)

Along comes this blog called “duurt-lang.nl” grabs the remix off our blog and it hits the #1 spot on hypem. Great news, cool guys and thanks guys.  Oh and by the way: they deleted my name, the name of the remix, the pic & most the tags my mp3 had. Most blogs add their tags to other blogs mp3s but always keep the names of all the artists on it (and the remixers)! Not them. They simply erased me and everything that said chromemusic, not on some random mp3 but on our own remix!

So no credit where a little credit is due! Thanks a lot duuuhhh-lang.nl - i made it a remix you made it a nameless mashup. Honestly i was disappointed big time by these guys and not much i could do about it, except salute all the guys that left gangsta comments on their blog post – it was a joy reading that (to be honest).

It was a moronic thing to do, but them guys from duuuuuh-lang apologized and re-upped it, which of course is a cool move but doesnt help once the tune has left the #1 position. damage is done, the benefit of sharing equals zero to us now.  So cool blog indie shuffle has re-upped it as well (i salute you) with a proper mp3 tag and the mp3 they got from the dutch blog – thx guys, but this ones not gonna go back to the #1 spot. So let me re-up it as well (with the usual ‘artist vs artist’ crap, so that people pick up on it). Totally Ducks sick!

File not Found # 4 – Dj Honda “On the Mic”

I used to play this jam, and still did up until 3 years ago, when we all made the serato transition, somehow one of these tunes that got lost in the conversion, but i picked up on it last time i played and another case of #file not found got solved, lol. Just a solid record with a Rick James break and hook with a short passgae from Slick Rick & Dougie Fresh: “We’re.. just some man thats on the mic….” The rest is history. Find the original sample source below. One of my favourite hiphop 12″ from the new school that had its rise somewhen in the late 90s. Enjoy this tune as you probably already have a million times. Since the beginning of YUM YUM dates back over 5 years we thought it might be nice to share all our reworks and edits we made over the years with y’all – starting today. Not only you’ll get a ton of original work over the next weeks but also you’ll see how we developed over time and boy we came a long way.

I really don’t know a song to start with so I’ll just pick the one which came to my mind first. I can remember Chrome calling me and asked for an acapella to incorporate in an Al Green song. So I sent the vocals over and here is the resulting remix:

By now you have all surely heard the biggest remix in 2010 so far. Boys Noize took the N.e.r.d ÜBER-Anthem and turned it into something even more big roomy worth screaming for, okay scratch big room – i’ll try to rephrase that, into an ÜBERbig Festival Anthem. Super Rookie, a recent act and remixer on Gomma records and what not, and an essential and vivid part of our YUM YUM set up, made a short but neccessary edit for the not-so-big room but regular club sets upon request. True Story by my buddy Passion from Bass Ill Euro: Some bright germans were requesting the tune “Cameroon Boy” very pushy while Passion was playing. He obviously never heard of the song and said he didnt have that tune on him, but they didnt quit. They kept on bothering him and they even went as far as to claim that it was an official world cup song, bc the WC is in Africa, and Cameroon is a part of Africa (Wow!). At the end of the night, when the Alcohol, stripped off all shyness, they were even singing the song for him…

They misheard the lyrics to Rihannas “Rude Boy” and turned it into “Cameroon Boy”.

thats Rich on the right side, whom i havent seen for a good ten years! the other man is impressive rap talent slash rapper slash fellow tech nerd, Cool-aide. Seriously not much i have to offer on this post but for those of you who have never heard of Rich, there is a soundbyte/video below and his various social connects. And i must say i have met a lot of positive people in my time and its always nice to reconnect with them – you always attract what you are. Rich has been busy as always – growing and glowing, and besides working with Q-tip and what not, his pride and joy is his little 2 year old kid who is getting all Joe Chambers on the drums, and daddy lets him use the cdjs (of course not the vinyl – still carrying that to the altar – lol)  @Richmedina – here is a tune i remixed/did some time back, just to keep updating each other from now.my man.
