After some months break and a few modifications we´re finally back in austrias capitol.Once again the venue will be the lovely “Market” right next to the”Naschmarkt”, where we already had a great party almost a year ago, which got sort of stopped by the police, but these problems are also sorted out. Yes, hands down! Its about time, we’ve had a really good attempt at throwing YUM YUM in Cafe Leopold over a year and a half ago and it went down a storm with the crowd going nuts, even with the lights on. The Dj set that day was the same – Beware and me (oh and Functionist, Kamikaze and Motorpitch). Why it took us so long, nobody really knows. You’d expect it to go down in Vienna almost from day one, but there was always something not working out a 100% so we kept on digging until we found the right set up (no offense to every else involved before – you still are involved). Didnt want to go into the whole thing half hearted.

Since this is gonna be a monthly venue, make sure to go sign up with our Vienna Facebook group, will be supplying you once a month with party invites, new YUM YUM top tunes & our mixtapes (cause party invites only, definitely suck – we had to find out the hard way, like i guess everyone else on facebook). Our Vienna Goodie Mail (Newsletter) with bonus downloads & other gifts will be available for Vienna from January 2011 on.

This Thursday its time to get down to the very first regular Top Friend Issue down @ Erste Liga with me and Dj Beware (YUM YUM Vienna/ FM4). We have had some kind of dj try outs for the time since we opened (i think 12 different djs) and now the set dj crew is established and done experimenting, some simply couldnt cut it – we’ve had a couple of nights where the djs mistook this spot for a cheap bmore club or couldn’t even play a nice warm-up, or even had the misfortune of playing during the Beerfest. Well all thats sorted now. The music policy we have in mind for T F will be displayed on the new mixtapes, which will soon come out and find its way through the webs to you – or will be handed out physically at the Party.

Djs: Me and Beware – besides both running our own YUM YUM outfits, me in Munich and him in Vienna – share a passion for all kinds of music. Come down to witness the original Top Friend sound and make this another biggie to go down, only real place to go to on a Thursday night and the only one with musical essence and backbone. Dieses Jahr gestehen sich Yum Yum und K-Swiss wieder ihre Liebe zur Musik und präsentieren die „Love Remastered“ Tour 2009.

Am 01.08.09 startet die Tour bei uns in Wien mit unserem YUM YUM Sommerfest:

Sofern uns das Wetter keinen Strich durch die Rechnung macht, beginnen wir ab 17h im schattigen Hof des WUK mit Papa Tilman und seinen sommerlichen Reggea, Soca und Island Vibes im Freien. Ab ca. 22h öffnen wir die Tore zum Forum, wo euch TAND WILLIAMS (YUM YUM NRW) und ein voluntäres Kollektiv seiner Kollegen einen Sundowner aus Soul, Funk, Reggae, Feelgood Tunes und Versions mixen. Im großen Saal entlädt sich dann die angestaute Hitze in einem Sound- und SommerRegen a la YUM YUM mit den DJs BEWARE, FUNCTIONIST, CHROME (YUM YUM München) und SHOWI (YUM YUM Berlin).

Zum Tourstart launchen K-Swiss und Yum Yum zudem eine limitierte T-Shirt-Linie, exklusiv designt von den angesagtesten Grafikstudios der Stunde. Neben den mittlerweile international bekannten „The Zonders“ haben sich auch „smal&paze“ von Klassikern inspirieren lassen und präsentieren Tour-Shirts zum verlieben.

Die T-Shirts erhaltet ihr bei „COMMON PEOPLE“ (Kirchengasse 40/2 1070 Wien). Jede/r Käufer/in eines Shirts erhält zudem freien Eintritt am 01.08.09 im WUK.

We always wanted to bring you the YUM YUM sound in an Open Area. Too bad there aren’t any good ones in munich. Thats why it took us so long. Especially with YUM YUM being cut dow to only one date a month (believe you me – it wasn’t our idea) people have been asking us for a second date and have been urging us to geta  2nd date – but frankly there weren’t any good spots in munich – every other location besides Registratur would have been a Ghetto Upgrade – and we didn’t want to have a 2nd YUM YUM just for the sake of it – we decided to wait until we had a good spot – even if only for one night.

But on Wednesday, May 10th its on (theres a holiday the day after, k?). The BBQ & Open Air Area starts @ 9pm. Main floors start @ 11pm.

With us as Munich residents and original team – Chrome, Schu, Not:fx – guests are coming in from almost all other YUM YUM Spots: YUM YUM Berlin – Schowi, YUM YUM Shanghai - Kamikaze and YUM YUM Vienna – dj Beware – which is premiering the following Friday, June 12th @ Cafe Leopold. There are supposedly 3 areas, i really hope that works out, A YUM YUM Main Area (huge spot – with a great soundsystem), A YUM YUM Open Air Area another huge Garden with some delicious BBQ food by the cook of Walther & Benjamin and a rather smaller and noisier Top Friend area. You will be in for a treat.

This is the first gathering of some of the YUM YUM cities and venues and i am really looking forward to this one. We ll get to hear the YUM YUM sound of 4 cities and some good friends of ours are coming down – just like a huge family reunion. This is the reason why we are going other places – to have this kind of exchange going – and its worked out very well everywhere – with the right mindset, attitude, care, friendliness, setup, people and the right friends who understand what we are doing here. (ps after the summer there are 2-3 more cities being added to the YUM YUM network)

We will be giving out the new YUM YUM Vol 9 and a second Mixcd we made specially for our people. And there will be plenty for most of you.
