This song has been a favourite of mine ever since i heard it first, a long, long time ago and anyone who has known me since the age of 18 knows ho much i was into this music instead of the then popular charts – i was a huge Al Green fan and his take on soul music. For those of you who still have my old, old mixtapes you will surely recall this tune and i even remember sampling it for a tune on my headz/downbeat album (think early mo wax/ ninja tune etc) that i finished in 2001 but never released. Time to re-release that album digital – now thats a thought!

A true sade classic got the Paul Nice remix treatment some time ago, or rather the Lummidee drums, but anyways this one been a favourite with us for a long, long time. I especially liked that he added that short audio clip in the beginning wih that guy singing a few lines from this tune, which is taken froma  DVD before her final concert in LA. Gracious! Even though there is always been a huge dispute in Europe if she can sing or not, in the states she is being reckognized as a true soul sister. Check her old works and go for that truly soulful and uplifting spirit.

I remember back in the day when you used to ask the hip hop headz who was their favourite singer  it would mostly be Sade and a few other exceptions, but everyone else was considered R&B. Not her! Her latest album wasn’t all that but Sade was a lot of inspiration especially in the 80ies.

Our spanish friends Maxey & Fred Spider sent me an album of soul edits they did some time ago, and i always kept forgetting to put at least some tunes up on the site. The entire soul edit album is excellent and right up my alley but you guys should def givt it a name, lol. By now you have all surely heard the biggest remix in 2010 so far. Boys Noize took the N.e.r.d ÜBER-Anthem and turned it into something even more big roomy worth screaming for, okay scratch big room – i’ll try to rephrase that, into an ÜBERbig Festival Anthem. Super Rookie, a recent act and remixer on Gomma records and what not, and an essential and vivid part of our YUM YUM set up, made a short but neccessary edit for the not-so-big room but regular club sets upon request.
