Good friend DJ Eleven did it again and remixed Goapele’s Play and it’s an equally great version as is the version conducted by Los Rakas which Chrome posted a few days ago. You may know Joe as a vital part of The RUB from NYC.

Check out his blog as well as his SoundCloud page since he delivers the goods not only by himself but also through his label 11″ Records. Glad to say we’re already staging some gigs in 2012 since we had too much fun in the last three years (or four?) and I’m already looking forward having him again since he’s just a nice guy! And that’s what’s YUM YUM all about. Period!

Hands down! A YUM YUM extraordinaire is upon us. Tomorrow DJ Eleven (The RUB, NYC) and I team up for the third time at Hundertmeister (directions via Google maps), Duisburg. Also after five wonderful years this will mark our next to last date at Hundertmeister!!

We will keep you posted on how things develop!

I’m hitting the planes again this month to make a bunch of stops in Europe.  I’ll be starting at Yum Yum Duisburg on Saturday, May 21, stopping through Relaxed Klubbing in Konstanz on Monday the 23rd, going big at Fabric in London on Friday the 27th, and finishing off at the 4 year anniversary of Nice! in Munich on Saturday the 28th.

Kickass remix that was originally only to be found on one of the Rubs “Motherf*** Remix” 12″es. And our buddies Ayres & Eleven from the Rub were kind enough to send this tune through instantly. A new 11″ (haha) by our dear buddy DJ Eleven (Twitter / Homepage) from NYC. It’s called “Every Freakin’” features Mike Baker The Bike Maker (again – haha) and was just released a couple of days ago. I really dig this but don’t take my word on this. Listen to it yourself and check out what Joe (Eleven) has to say about it:

Over a year after starting on the project, the joint that I did with the homie Mike Baker The Bike Maker has finally hit the (digital) record stores (and their virtual shelves)! Vancouver’s Kutcorners contributed a great bassline for the original version. Mike2600, Illo + Keam, and DJ Ayres all flipped really good remixes. And, Kalani did a fantastic job bringing the artwork for it all together.

Since this is a single we do not provide you with a hq download link but highly recommend to buy this via your favorite online dealer. Know that the release includes a couple of fabulous remixes by DJ Ayres and others. You’ll find a couple of links below. If you dig the sound you’ll find a gazillion of free stuff (I smell some mixtapes) on DJ Eleven’s homepage as well as on the homepage of THE RUB which is Joe’s infamous DJ squad. There is honestly not a lot to say besides that it was an über-awesome schnitzelgiggen fest. In fact some people were even too awesome and so we had to let them go. DJ Ayres and I kicked it back and forth and we had such a nice time with him. Hope you make it safe to Dublin and see you soon mate.

We had a few pictures taken but I haven’t managed to talk to the photographer yet. She’s probably still asleep. But those pics will be up in no time.

Another YUM YUM approaching this Saturday, Nov 21st. You’ll be in for a treat with our buddy DJ Ayres from NYC and myself. After the outstanding performances of his THE RUB affiliates Cosmo and Eleven I have no doubt that Saturday will line up with those.

One thing though… and I can’t stress this out enough!! Please be an early bird!! We open up at 23 o’clock sharp and I highly recommend to be there in time. Last time we had to shut the doors at midnight cause we were sold out. And this was not the first time…

There is a new release from our homie from Brooklyn, Dj Eleven, coming out today called “Dance our way” – 3 hot dancey tunes that should be easy to incorporate into any open minded modern hiphop set. Check out the lead track which is very p-funk ridden with a mellow vocal hook and sureshot 4/4 beat.(ps i am not even sure if i am supposed to post this or if this was purely intended for us djs, hmm??? – so here is only the flashplayer, k?) .

We have Djs extraordinaire : Eli Escobar & Dj Eleven as guest for our more or less forced spontaneous Top Friend Special at Cafe King.

You all remember Eleven when he and the rest of the RUB guys visited YUM YUM last year, and Dj Eli Escobar is no stranger to music lovers everywhere. The Ruba re ultimately the american counterpart to YUM YUM and Eli is the guy who does excellent remixes, edits for diplo, puts out releases on hollertronix, money lotion.

Eli Escobars blog – which is one of the favoured dj blogs worldwide and i really cant stress enough how good this guy is as a dj. Dj Elevens website – and his RUB Radio show on Brooklyn Radio.
